Leabharlann Nua

Cúis chéiliúrtha dúinn go bhfuil Leabharlann nua oscailte againn i nGaelscoil na Dúglaise.   Buíochas mór leis na tuismitheoirí agus múinteoirí a d’oibrigh go dian le roinnt míonna anuas chun an tionscnaimh seo a thabhairt chun críche.  ‘Sí an t-údar Judi Curtin a osclóidh an leabharlann go hoifigiúil ar an 23ú Deireadh Fómhair. Beidh cead ag na páistí a bheith gléasta mar  charactaer ón leabhar is fearr leo ar an lá.

The opening of our new school library this year is a significant milestone in the history of Gaelscoil na Duglaise.   It is a tribute to the generosity of those parents who have worked tirelessly over the last few months in bringing this worthy project to fruition and a measure of the commitment which you as parents and we as teachers have to developing the children’s proficiency as readers.

The library is also a tribute to the creativity and generosity of the architect Andrew O’Brien   (www.aobarchitects.ie nó 086-0730113) who created such a lovely space where reading is synonymous with peace, comfort and inspiration.   The shelves are well stocked and all the children have had their first weekly visit and borrowed their books.

The library is to be officially opened on 23rd of October and the acclaimed author Judi Curtin has very enthusiastically agreed to cut the ribbon for us.   We are asking all the children to dress up as their favourite character from their favourite book that day in celebration of the occasion.
